I need four dental implants, but my PPO has a $1,500 maximum for implants per year and only offers 50% for them. I would have to go into debt to afford the out-of-pocket costs for four dental implants. How can I find a good insurance company that will cover dental implants? Thank you. – Jeremiah from Omaha
Jeremiah,

Can You Get Dental Insurance for Implants?
If you have dental insurance, many higher-tiered plans will provide some coverage for dental implants. But please do not expect dental insurance to pay for your dental implants. Your dental implants treatment plan includes several expenses, including:
- X-rays
- 3-D CT scan
- Implant surgery and supplies
- Bone grafting procedures
- Local anesthesia
- Dental sedation
- Dental implant fixtures
- Dental implant crowns
Your dental insurance may provide coverage toward some aspects of your treatment. Most insurance companies with dental implant coverage pay only a percentage of your bill and have a yearly limit for plan benefits toward specific procedures. If you already have dental insurance, we recommend sending a pretreatment estimate to help determine your out-of-pocket costs for dental implants.
Should You Switch Dental Plans for Dental Implant Coverage?
Before switching dental insurance plans to save money on dental implants, compare your options carefully. Also, check with the insurance companies you are considering to find out whether you will have a waiting period before you can begin treatment for dental implants. Some insurance plans with higher premiums do not have a waiting period.
Low- or No-Interest Payment Plans for Dental Implants
Some dental offices offer financing or payment plans for more costly procedures. You may be eligible for low- or no-interest financing to help you pay for care over time. If a dental office does not partner with a financing company, you can apply for CareCredit or other healthcare credit cards.
